The beauty of tribal decoration

Tribal Jewelry is made by indigenous tribal artisans using local materials to create objects of adornment that contain significant cultural meaning for the wearer. Authentic handcrafted Tribal Jewelry is very different from what you will find in any department store. There may be missing stones, broken sections, or other imperfections. Much Tribal decoration has traveled far, and is passed from generation to generation – these irregularities are part of its charm and value. The earliest known Jewelry was actually created not by humans but by Neanderthal living in Europe. Perforated beads made from small sea shells have been found dating to 115,000 years ago in a cave along the coast of Spain. And in Kenya, beads made from ostrich egg shells have been dated to more than 40,000 years ago. Later, the European early modern humans had crude necklaces and bracelets of bone, teeth, berries, and stone hung on pieces of string or animal sinew, or pieces of carved bone used to secure clothing together. Around 7000 years ago, the first copper jewellery was made.
